Dimapur, March 29 (MExN): MLA H Tovihoto Ayemi has expressed deep sorrow over the demise of Vihelie Sekhose, describing him as a man of remarkable simplicity and humility.
In a condolence message, Ayemi said Sekhose dedicated his life to public service with integrity and quiet strength. Beginning his career as a Circle Officer in 1967 under the Nagaland Civil Service, he went on to serve in key roles, including Deputy Commissioner of Mon (1994–1996) and Kohima (1996–1999).
He was inducted into the IAS in 1998 (1991 batch) in recognition of his exemplary service, and later retired as Secretary, Public Health Engineering (PHE).
Even after retirement, Sekhose continued to serve as Advisor for Border Affairs from 2006 to 2013, reflecting his commitment to the state and its people.
Ayemi said the late officer would be remembered not only for his distinguished career but also for his gentle nature and the respect he earned from all who knew him, adding that his life remains an inspiration.
He prayed for eternal peace for the departed soul and strength and comfort for the bereaved family.
