KOHIMA, DECEMBER 12 (MExN): The Angami Youth Organisation (AYO) has reiterated the Angami Public Organisation's (APO) 1993 resolution on "One Government, One Tax," issuing a stern warning to workers from various Naga Political Groups (NPGs) to refrain from imposing taxation, extorting, or harassing any business establishments or individuals within the Angami jurisdiction.
As the festive season approaches, the AYO expressed concern that such activities are likely to escalate. In light of this, the organisation has urged the Ceasefire Monitoring Group (CMG), the Ceasefire Supervisory Board (CSB), and their respective agencies to be more vigorous in performing their duties and responsibilities, in order to ensure safety and security of the business community and general public.
The AYO also said it shall monitor and remain vigilant on the activities of anti-social elements and defaulters shall be dealt with befittingly.
Additionally, the AYO appealed to both law enforcement agencies and Naga Political Groups to work together to create a peaceful and conducive environment for the people to celebrate the festive season in the true spirit of Christianity.
