AYO clarify on closure of two educational institution in Kma

DIMAPUR, MARCH 22 (MExN): The Angami Youth Organization (AYO) has issued a statement to clarify on the closure of two educational institutions in Kohima,

In a press release, the AYO maintained that its office on March 19 evening had convened the message to the NSF, ASU and a Mao Council representative to the Tenyimi People’s Organization, that educational institutions won’t be affected.

However, the AYO termed it unfortunate that two institutions, namely, Model Higher Secondary School and Model Christian College, owned by a person belonging to the Mao community, dragged the name of the organization while alleging that it was AYO’s directive to shut down the two institutions.

The AYO stated that on the advice of the APO, it has been “restraining from taking any action of extreme measures,” despite the failure of the Manipur government and the Mao Council to address the APO’s ultimatum within the deadline served, which was February 20, 2024.

However, taking into consideration the gravity of the current situation, the AYO maintained that it has been cautioning the Mao citizens to remain vigilant before the APO’s ultimatum is addressed.

Reiterating its stand to support the ultimatum served by the APO, the AYO cautioned that “it shall not hesitate to initiate any course of action if the Manipur government continue to give a deaf ear to the demands raised by the APO.”
