AYO Diphupar condemns abduction by NSCN-K (Niki)

Dimapur, October 14 (MExN): The Angami Youth Organization (AYO) of Diphupar has issued a condemnation of the recent abduction of two members of the Diphupar Ao Youth Forum and the seizure of their vehicle by members of the GPRN NSCN-K (Niki) at Padam Pukhruri Village.

In a press release, the AYO expressed deep outrage, describing the act as cowardly, inhumane, and an affront to the dignity of peace-loving citizens of Nagaland. The organization denounced the use of violence and intimidation to impose unlawful control, calling it a direct threat to the region’s peace, stability, and economic development.

The AYO further criticized the NSCN-K (Niki), a Naga political group currently in a ceasefire agreement with the Indian government, for engaging in criminal behavior that undermines the trust of the public. The group emphasized that the abduction of civilians to enforce extortion demands is not only illegal but morally reprehensible.

In response to the incident, the Angami Youth Organization called on the Chairman of the Ceasefire Monitoring Group and state law enforcement agencies to take immediate action. They demanded that those involved in the abduction face swift and strict legal consequences.

“This incident is not merely an attack on two individuals but an assault on the values of Naga society—our collective commitment to peace, mutual respect, and coexistence,” the release stated. The AYO urged community leaders, civil society organizations, and citizens to remain vigilant against such destructive forces and to stand united against those seeking to destabilize the society.
