The Angami Youth Organization (AYO) has extended the ongoing verification drive of local and regional taxi in Kohima till July 2.
A total of 1,427 taxis have been registered till the fifth day of the ongoing verification drive, AYO president Kesosul Christopher Ltu told the media persons on Saturday.
“We have had an overwhelming response from both taxi owners and drivers,” Ltu said while updating the status of the ongoing verification drive, which commenced on June 24. He said that the AYO had taken decision to extend the verification drive for another three days as many are yet to be registered.
In this, AYO requested those taxis bearing NL01 or NL07 who are yet to register to get the verification done in three days, i.e June 30 to July 2. AYO stated that those taxis failing to register will be assumed that their documents are either forged or “ownership is questionable.”
No local or regional taxi will be allowed to ply without proper verification after July 2, Ltu said.
AYO has undertaken this verification drive and assisted by All Nagaland Taxi Association (ANTA).
The required documents for verification include the owners, Aadhaar card and vehicle documents; Driver's Aadhaar card, driving license, and ANTA ID card.
