AYO reiterates closure of shops on Sundays

KOHIMA, JULY 5 (MExN): The Angami Youth Organisation (AYO) has reiterated its stand on closure of shops and business establishments within the Angami jurisdiction on Sundays, except those permitted by the Municipal Council and District Administration.

The AYO, in a press release, stated that it was perturbed to witness the disturbing trend in Kohima, where business establishments and roadside vendors are randomly open on Sundays, in contrary to the directives issued by the Municipal Council and District Administration.

“It is evident that numerous shops and business establishment and roadside vendors remain open on Sundays and for which,” the AYO reiterated their stand on Sunday closure.

The AYO, in collaboration with the various youth organisations and stakeholders, shall conduct checking and befitting course of action shall be initiated on the defaulters, it stated.

Meanwhile, the AYO conveyed its appreciation to all the stakeholders for “successfully implementing the Sunday closure” of shops and business establishments in Chomoükedima and Dimapur district.
