AYO serious with issue of climate change

Kohima, September 29 (MExN): In conformity to the “Year of social networking 2010,” the Angami Youth Organization (AYO) has concluded its second phase of touring to four Angami regions with the message on climate change, resource conservation and biodiversity. The delegates include the village chairmen, VDB secretaries, women society, students union and youths. The main concern that was discussed in the seminar was the global issues that has become everyone responsibility to save Mother Earth.

Global warming, climate changes and fast disappearing forest in our land have become a threat to the next generation. The resource persons elaborately presented their papers on the present status of the Nagaland in conserving the forest and natural resources. Many constructive suggestions were given out during the seminar that strongly reaffirmed to support the AYO’s resolution on blanket ban of use of airgun in the Angami inhabited areas, ban to burning of forests, total ban in hunting and to appeal all Angami village to adopt a reserve forest.

This humble venture taken by the AYO hopes to create awareness to other neigbouring districts also to rejuvenate our land into balance ecology, a release receivede here said. The main speakers of the seminar include Thepfulhouvi Solo, IFS, Retd, principal conservator of forest, Neiketu Iralu, Bano Haralu and Dr. Keyiekhrie Kire. The seminar took place in four locations- Phesama, Chumukedima, Sechu Subza and Chiephobozou. The next phase of AYO’s programme is the traffic regulation week and assists the district administration to look into law and order situation in Kohima town. This was stated in a release issued by AYO president Khrielievi Chüsi and press secretary Aja Zinyü.
