AYO settles August 19 case

Kohima, August 29 (MExN): The Angami Youth Organisation (AYO) has amicably resolved the matter of physical assault on one of its members by the GPRN/NSCN. 

On August 19, a member of the AYO, Pelevilie Kuotsu was assaulted by Region Commander of the Angami Region, GPRN/NSCN. Following a series of meetings of AYO representatives and GPRN/NSCN, headed by its Chairman Angami Region and Deputy Kilonser Home, the matter has been resolved amicably “in the spirit of brotherhood and oneness,” stated a press release from AYO Vice President Kekhrievolie Keyho and its General Secretary Rokoketuo Sechü.  “In the admittance of regret over the incident” and agreement to “fulfill the demands” of the AYO, made on behalf of the victim, the matter was declared settled in the presence of both accused and victim, the AYO informed. 

The AYO further urged all organizations/unions that had come forward to extend solidarity to the victim to “kindly endorse” the settlement made, “which was concluded in the best interest of all.”
