Dimapur, Dec 4 (MExN): The Baghty town public today expressed their unhappiness over the supervision of the road construction work from Wokha to Merapani by the Executive Engineer of Wokha ‘alone.’
A representation letter to the Chief Engineer (Roads & Bridges), by the Secretary of the Baghty Town Council, Lawrence Murry stated that in the past years, supervision of work from Wokha to Merapani were alloted in divisions between the Executive Engineer of Wokha and Merapani who were duly subordinated by the concern SDOs of the two divisions. The release however, expressed unhappiness over the construction work being supervised by the Executive Engineer of Wokha only, and stated that there shall be some shortcoming in the work supervision, if it is not discharged as per division and area-wise accordingly. In the light of this, the release appealed to the Chief Engineer, Roads & Bridges, Kohima, to take necessary steps and authorize those concern Executive Engineers and SDOs to discharge this responsibilities in their respective divisions and areas.
The release, however, expressed hearty gratitude of the Baghty town public to the Government of Nagaland and the concern department for undertaking the road construction work from Wokha to Merapani which, according to the release, is better known as “The lifeline of the Lothas in particular and the Nagas in general”.
The release further expressed gratitude to the department for posting Sashimeren, Executive Engineer R&B, at Baghty division, who according to the release, is a responsible and dedicated officer and stated that the office is in full swing after the staffers were assigned various sections of work after his arrival. The general public of Baghty shall continue and support the department in the various departmental developments in the days to come, the release assured.
