Bailey Baptist College, Wokha commenced its week-long event, ‘Milange, Whoop de Do Week 2026,’ on October 12, with a series of sports, cultural and recreational activities scheduled to continue until October 17.

The inaugural programme was attended by Deputy Commissioner (DC) Wokha, K Mhathung Tsanglao, as special guest, while WDSA chairman and MSME (PCI) representative Yanrenthung Humtsoe attended as guest of honour. The DC formally launched the event by bowling the ball.

Addressing the gathering, Humtsoe urged students to take part in at least one activity during the week, encouraging them to explore their talents, discover new interests and develop their personalities beyond academics.

He described college life as a crucial phase for personal growth and called on students to make use of opportunities that foster creativity, confidence and individual abilities. He also highlighted Milange as a platform that brings together sports, culture and music, noting that invitations had been extended to other institutions to encourage wider participation.

DC Tsanglao, in his address, stressed the importance of discipline, punctuality, respect for teachers and teamwork. He emphasised that education should contribute to shaping responsible and better human beings, urging students to remain receptive to guidance, observe their surroundings and develop a habit of learning something new every day.

The week-long celebration features a range of activities, including sports, singing and other recreational events, providing students with opportunities to showcase their abilities and engage in activities beyond the classroom.
