BAM adopts constitution; nominates officers for tenure 2019-22

Mokokchung, October 4 (MExN): The Boxing Association Mokokchung (BAM), earlier known as the Mokokchung Boxing Association, formally adopted its constitution and nominated office bearers for the tenure 2019-22 at a general meeting on October 3 held at its treasurer residence, Yimyu Ward.
Most of the BAM officials for the tenure 2019-22 will be headed by Imkummeren Jamir as president, Rongsentoshi Jamir as vice-president, Aolong Imchen as general secretary, Bendangtemsu Ozukum as assistant general secretary and Merang Longkumer as the treasurer, informed a press release from the association.
The house thoroughly scrutinized and adopted the association’s constitution which was presented by the constitution drafting committee. It adopted ‘Primum Honoren’ (Honor first in Latin) as its motto and declared, among many others, to encourage boxing as a sport in the district and also promote state boxers in the national and international levels.
During the meeting, a two point resolution was also adopted during the meeting. The association resolved to conduct a talent hunt to identify young talented boxers in the district. It also resolved to aspire and promote boxing in the district and beyond through proper coordination with the different sports and other government agencies.
The BAM, earlier known by the nomenclature Mokokchung Boxing Association, was officially formed in 2015. During the early days of its existence, the association entrusted a six member committee to draft the constitution. After thorough study of different boxing associations existing in the country and also other international organizations, the constitution was finally completed and formally adopted, the press release added.
