Phek: As part of its enterprise development initiative, the Nagaland Bamboo Development Agency organized a semi-intensive training on ‘Bamboo Furniture Making’ from May 5 to 7 at K. Basa, under Phek district. Altogether, Twenty-two bamboo artisans attended the training.
A press release issued by Dr. Tolto Metha, Member, NBM-IT, NBDA informed that the Agency will be conducting such trainings in different districts of the State to generate interest and awareness on the necessity of skill-up gradation and value addition of various bamboo furniture products to meet the demands of the modern world.
Through these trainings, the NBDA also aim to educate the masses with the importance of bamboo an as effective medium for poverty alleviation among the rural poor through its multiple applications.
