BAN, DCCI, others condemn firing; pledges support to PAC

DIMAPUR, NOVEMBER 22 (MExN): Business Association of Nagas (BAN) and Dimapur Chamber of Commerce & Industry (DCCI) has strongly condemned the firing at Honda two-wheeler showroom owned by a Naga lady near Nuton Bosti junction on November 20.  

“It is unfortunate that women are also not spared by anti-socials to meet their selfish demands. We urge Dimapur police to apprehend the culprits at the earliest and give them befitting punishment as per law.  

BAN and DCCI will not remain mute spectators to the dastardly acts and frequent demands as we are entrusted with the responsibility to safeguard interests of the business community,” DCCI President Akashe Zhimomi and BAN President Vitho Zao in a joint condemnation note stated.  

“BAN and DCCI stands by the October 31 public rally resolutions adopted by Public Action Committee (PAC) and will fully support initiatives of the PAC. To check untoward incidents business establishments should install CCTV cameras and at least one camera outside their shops and extortion demands should be instantly informed to the law enforcing agencies,” it further added.  

River Belt Colony: River Belt Colony has condemned the open firing by unidentified miscreants at a two-wheeler showroom in the colony on November 20. The colony in a condemnation note issued by its Chairman Mepu Imchen and secretary Joseph Kenio Mao has appealed all peace loving citizens and administration to be more vigilant to control the menace of extortion.” “The security agencies should apprehend such miscreants at all cost and punish them as per law,” it added.  

SCD: Meanwhile, Sumi Council, Dimapur (SCD) has condemned the “cowardly and ghastly act carried out by miscreants where it can be sorted out through dialogue.” SCD in a press release also appealed all to create peaceful atmosphere in the larger interest of the people and Naga society.
