
KOHIMA, OCTOBER 8 (MExN): To address the problem faced by the industry and in the larger interest of the public, the ban on single- use plastic/ plastic bottles below 1 litre has been relaxed till November 30, 2024 subject to the following conditions.
That all the retailers, wholesalers and manufacturers of products using single use plastics/ plastic bottles below 1 litre shall dispose the existing stacks within the relaxation period.
During the relaxation period, all the manufacturers and suppliers may take effective steps for collection and disposal of waste plastic bottles.
The Federation of Nagaland Packaged Drinking Water Manufacturer Association (FNPMA) may implement the buyback scheme as proposed during the period.
Additionally, the Deputy Commissioners have been directed to disseminate the information(s) to all the Local Bodies (ULBs) and village authorities for strict compliance and ensure collection and safe disposal of waste plastics in their respective jurisdictions. Besides these, all other items and conditions issued in a notification on July 10, 2024 will remain the same.
