Ban on slaughter of pigs lifted in Kohima 

Kohima, November 23 (MExN): The Office of Deputy Commissioner Kohima has informed that ban imposed on slaughter of pigs, import/export of live pigs/piglets/pork in certain African Swine Fever’s Infected Zones and Surveillance Zones in Kohima has been lifted with ‘immediate effect.’

The zones are Viswema, Jakhama, Khuzama, Kigwema, Kidima, Kezoma, Phesama, Pfuchama, Mima, Mitelephe, Dzülekie, Khonoma, Dzürüzü near KMC Dumping Site (New Meriema), Meriema, Old and New Tsiesema, High School Area Kohima, Khuzama and Chiechama villages.

The ban has been lifted in view of elapse of 4 months time period since the detection of first case of ASF and no further report of new outbreak after  having followed the protocol of 'National Action Plan' for Control, Containment and Eradication of ASF laid down by Government of India, stated an order issued by the DC Kohima Office.
