Dimapur, February 19 (MExN): With the objective to support Naga entrepreneurs, the Business Association of Nagas (BAN) has launched an initiative called ‘BAN Social Responsibility Connect.’
Through this initiative, BAN in a press release said that the association will identify and assist genuine Naga entrepreneurs by connecting them through some willing donors for providing the basic tools and equipment and also linking them to financial institutions.
BAN will mentor the beneficiary by way of providing training and creating market linkages and connect the beneficiary with the donor, updating his/her progress monthly.
Under BAN Social Responsibility Connect (BSRC), BAN identified Bendangwabang, a young talented and hardworking blacksmith craftsman and steel fabricator from Aoyimti village and gifted him a Welding machine for his unit expansion, which he couldn’t afford normally, the press release said.
BAN President L Mongkum Jamir, Finance Secretary Ababe Ezung and Executive Council Member Akum Jamir, handed over the machine.
The BAN mentioned, it is disheartening to note that thousands of Naga youths are either unemployed or unemployable throughout the state. Many hardworking talented Naga youths are struggling to buy even their basic minimum requirement of machinery and equipment for running their business due to want of finance, while it is equally disappointing to access finances through the financial institution.
“Unless some initiatives are taken to assist these youngsters, they will only be a liability for the state,” it stated.
Therefore, BAN informed that any well-wisher who wishes to donate for talented but underprivileged sons and daughters can do so by becoming a donor member. For details, contact BAN at 9863861450, email: nagasban@gmail.com
