A week-long training programme focusing on banana fiber extraction and handicraft products development commenced on March 5. Hosted at Yikhum Community Hall and Old Riphyim Federation Office, the programme has garnered the participation of 50 youths from various Self-Help Groups (SHGs) and villages.

This initiative is a collaborative effort between the District Hub for Empowerment of Women (DHEW), Wokha, and Shiahoi Oshom-ETF Cell Wokha, in partnership with the Nagaland Tool Room & Training Centre, Dimapur, and Englan Yingsung Women Livelihood Thrift & Credit Cooperation Society Ltd.
The primary objective of the programme is to empower young women by imparting practical skills in banana fiber extraction and handicraft product development. Through hands-on training sessions and interactive workshops, participants will learn various techniques and methods, fostering entrepreneurship and sustainable livelihood opportunities in the region.
