Dimapur, August 19 (MExN): Bandhan Bank has opened 5 micro banking centers known as Door-Step Banking Centers (DSC) in different parts of Dimapur – Diphupar B, Chumukedima, Padumpukhuri, Kuda Village (Nagarjan), and Industrial Estate Village.
The first DSC branch in Dimapur at Diphupar-B was inaugurated by the Deputy Commissioner of Dimapur, Kesonyu Yhome as chief guest making live all the five branches on August 19.
A press release from Bandhan Bank Head (Dimapur Branch), T. Yimchunger said that the chief guest stressed on the importance of micro finance in the district. The DC mentioned that in every DCC meeting, he has been stressing to all the bank officials to raise the CD ratio at a desirable level. The introduction of micro finance by Bandhan Bank will help the masses in a big way specially the women groups, the DC stated.
30 beneficiaries were given micro loans from the five DSCs as part of the launch of the DSCs.
Others who spoke at the launch event included LP Therie, Head GB of Diphupar-B Village, Rana Jafri Islam, Bandhan Bank Cluster Head, and Ratan Sharma, Bandhan Bank Micro Banking Cluster head.
Bandhan Bank first set its foot in Nagaland by opening a bank branch in Dimapur on September 16, 2015.
