Dimapur, June 30 (MExN): A Financial Literacy Camp was conducted at Ganeshnagar village under Dhansaripar Block, Dimapur on June 24 by Bank of Baroda, Dimapur branch. S Ninuo Chah, Chief Manager urged the villagers to open PMJDY accounts in banks to avail the benefit of insurance coverage. In the event of unfortunate death of an account holder, the family will get benefit of insurance amount of Rs.30,000 just by maintaining account with the bank and without paying any premium, it was informed. He further stated that BoB, Dimapur Branch has settled two cases so far under the scheme. He also stressed on the need of Aadhaar seeding of all the accounts as emphasized by the Govt. of India, which will pave the way for eradicating corruption as whatever benefits entitled to the public will be transferred to the account directly.
He also urged the villagers to subscribe to the Government’s social security scheme such as PMJJBY and PMSBY. A person between the age of 18 and 40 can subscribe to both the insurance schemes by paying Rs.330/- and Rs.12/- respectively. In case of accidental death, the nominee will get Rs. 2 lakh under each scheme and in case of normal death, the nominee will get Rs. 1 lakh in each scheme. Any person above 40 years of age also can subscribe Rs.12/- per year for accidental death insurance coverage. There is provision to get benefit in case a person is totally incapacitated during accident.
The Chief Manager further stated that Atal Pension Yojana is a very attractive and beneficial pension scheme for common people, unorganised sector workers, individuals, where people between the age of 18 to 40 years can invest certain amount every month according to the age wise till he attains 60 years of age. Thereafter, the person will receive certain pension amount till he dies. The beauty of the scheme is that even after the pensioner expired, the nominee will receive certain lump-sum amount, he stated.
