Kiphire, January 24 (MExN): The Additional Chief Secretary and Commissioner Nagaland, Banuo. Z. Jamir made her first inspection tour to Kiphire District as Commissioner Nagaland on January 20 and 21.
Kiusum HQ receives first ever visit by a commissioner
SDO (Sadar) Athrila .S in a press release said that on January 21, Jamir visited Pungro Sub Divisional Officer(C) (HQ) and held meeting with the Administrative Officers of the District. She interacted with the DBs and GBs of Pungro Area.
The following day she inspected the Community Health Centre, Government High School, Pungro and the ongoing Office Construction of the Sub Divisional (C) Office, Pungro. Later, she visited EAC (HQ), Kiusum, one of the most interior Admn HQ Under Kiphire District where a warm public reception was accorded to her. At Kiusum EAC HQ, Jamir held meetings with the Officers of District Development Departments implementing National Flagship Programmes such as Medical, Education, PHED, PWD (R&B), Social Welfare, Industries and Power Department. She also inspected the Primary Health Centre, Government Primary School (GPS) and Government Middle School (GMS) and had interaction with the VHC and VEC members.
The Additional Chief Secretary and Commissioner stressed upon the people of the area on the importance of Health and Education Sector and the need to utilize the Government Funds properly especially in the field of Education and Health. She also emphasized that equal opportunity be given to the girl child especially in the field of Education.
The highlights of the public reception at Kiusum, EAC HQ included 3 (Three) Cultural Troops, various cultural items of bygone Era and display of Taekwondo. The visit of the Additional Chief Secretary and Commissioner Nagaland to EAC HQ, Kiusum was the first ever visit by a Commissioner, Nagaland. Thousands of people from the area thronged to attend the reception.
