Baptist College Kohima freshers’ social held

The Baptist College Kohima today held its 34th freshers’ social 2016 at Ura Academy Hall with Prof. Pardeshi Lal, Pro-Vice Chancellor, Nagaland University, Kohima Campus, Meriema as the chief guest.  

Held under the theme ‘Seize the day,’ the freshers were greeted with a song “Welcome to the family” by students of 5th Semester, History Department.  

Speaking on the occasion, Prof. Lal urged upon the students to adapt themselves with the changing times and also develop competitive spirit, adding that teachers are always there to help them.  

He said that when marching from school to college, students must have immense enthusiasm to learn new and more valuable things.  

Stating that everything has its own significance, he urged upon the students to filter what is going to be good and what is going to be bad for them.  

Further, he called upon the students to improve themselves with extracurricular activities. Kezholesa Dominic in his welcome address said the occasion is not mere fun and entertainment but it is an important platform for freshers to decide and set their goal.  

Riikhielhounuo Mere and Rhondeno C. Ngullie spoke on behalf of seniors and freshers respectively. The function was compered by duo Mughato H. Zhimo and Atingla Sangtam.  

Limasunep Longkumer and Alice Venuh were winners of Mr & Ms Fresher respectively and special numbers also marked the occasion. Vote of thanks was proposed by Mhasezo Tetseo.
