DIMAPUR, DECEMBER 14 (MExN): Director of TaFMA, Dr Hovithal Sothu inaugurated the Baptist institute of Church Music (BICum) on December 13 at Baptist Theological College, Pfutsero.

The institute aims to impart a one-year certificate course in music and to educate the BTC students in church music and strengthen the music program and activities of the College for the glory of God. The inauguration program was followed by a concert ‘A Night of Advent Season's Music' at Chakhesang Mission Centre Church.

The Guest of Honour, Dr Sothu, congratulated BTC for starting BICuM stating that this is a great step towards promoting excellence in music. He stated that Nagas, despite being talented, are unable to excel because they are easily satisfied with mediocrity. Therefore he encouraged the aspirants in the field of music to work hard and strive for professional excellence. He also stated that given the present efforts of TaFMA, the future of music in Nagaland is bright.  Besides enthralling performances from the students and College community, the Sweven band and the Canticles, both from Pfutsero rocked the stage with their talent.
