Basayi Keyho today emerged the champion title of the 46th wrestling meet of Phek Wrestling Association (PWA) held at Phek village. Winning the coveted champion title, 24 years Keyho, son of Lt. Vechochiyi Keyho was awarded with a cash prize of Rs 35,000 sponsored by Vepalu Khesoh in memory of husband late Zhosheto Khesoh.

Johi Rhakho, son of Vechinieyi Rhakho stood second position and awarded with Rs. 20,000 sponsored by Vepichi Keyho, VDB secretary Phek. Hashe-o Venuh, son of Nukhochi Venuh bagged the 3rd position and received Rs 15,000 sponsored by Thupuve Vero, president Phek Village Youth Organization. 4th place winner Munuhu Venuh, son of Lt. Zapopa Venuh, awarded with Rs 10,000 sponsored by Khosapa Venuh, president Phek District Congress Committee.

Kuluthi Venuh is Under 16 champ
In 3rd Under 16 category, Kuluthi Venuh bagged the champion title and awarded with Rs. 15,000 sponsored by Besunieyi Nienu, vice president Phek Farmers Club.

Eveto Rhakho stood second position and received Rs. 10,000 sponsored by Khrievizo Keyho, ABSI DEF Phek. Third place winner Muziyi Chizo received Rs. 8000 sponsored by PWA former champion Mudonieyi Chizo. Dzuthoku Keyho finished 4th position and pocked Rs. 7000 sponsored by Shekhota Vero, finance secretary Phek District Veteran’s Football Association.

In B-Team category, Thupumutu Chizo, Neyi Vero, Dumi Huire and Muzhi Keyho bagged 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th position respectively.

Have will power- Azo
MLA Kuzholuzo (Azo) Nienu and Leader of NPF Legislature Party graced the inaugural session and urged the wrestlers to have willpower in their hunt for excellence. He also called upon them to have tolerance, patience and sincere in their approach and never let down the parental aspiration. Further, Azo appreciated the Phek village which produced Nagaland Wrestling Association (NWA) champions in the persons of Hukhonieyi Soho and Vedeta Nienu and Naga Open wrestling champion Surhoneyi Soho on earlier occasions.

Chivozo Soho, Chairman Phek Village Council graced the closing function as the guest of honour and gave away prize to the winners.

Earlier, PWA President Thuputhiyi Venuh delivered presidential address while PWA joint secretary Shede Soho administered oath to the wrestlers. The programme was chaired by PWA Vice President Vepichi Keyho while welcome address was delivered by Phek Village Youth Organization president Thupuve Vero. The closing function was chaired by PWA General Secretary Akuve Soho wile PWA finance secretary Nuchikhoyi Rhakho proposed vote of thanks.
