BBBP camp in Wokha sensitizes fathers on women health issues

Wokha, February 10 (MExN): Under Beti Bachao Beti Padhao (BBBP), Fathers’ camp for “Sensitization on Women Health Issues” was held on February 8 at Wokha Town Baptist Church, Wokha.


Dr R Zechano Ezung and UBSI Longkumonen Pongen were the resources persons, a press release from Zuben, IA, Wokha stated.


Medical Officer Dr R Zechano Ezung (AYUSH) District Hospital Wokha dwelling on the topic ‘women health issues,’ emphasized that both man and woman have health issues but some affect women differently pointing some of the common problems and diseases concerning women health like breast cancer, pregnancy issues, cervical cancer and others. She also said that women suffer higher heart attack deaths compared to men. Depression and anxiety also exhibits more often in women.


UBSI Pongen, dwelling on ‘Danger of Social Media on Teenagers,’ said that it was very important for parents discuss with their kids on how to use social media wisely. Stating that there were so many good things to learn, he also pointed out risk factors involved and suggested that parents should talk to their children about the danger and consequences of social media.


Pongen further added that parents should be aware of what kids do online, spending so much time on social media can be sometimes dangerous. On the other hand, if used in a good way can be an opportunity for learning new ideas and improvement of communication technology skills. He also highlighted on ‘Prevention of Children from Sexual Offences.’


The function was chaired by EAC, Wokha, Tumben P Tsanglao, while Reverend S Thungrio, Pastor Wokha Town Baptist Church welcomed the gathering.
