BCCI UNDER-19: Nagaland eves defeat Sikkim

Two consecutive wins in debut tournament

Dimapur, November 3 (MExN): The Nagaland women’s Under-19 cricket team is having a dream debut producing its consecutive second win at the BCCI Under-19 Women Cricket Tournament at Dhanbad, Jharkhand.  

The state Under-19 eves defeated Sikkim U-19 by a whopping 120-run margin in the second match played today.  

Put in to bat after losing the toss, the team put up 167 on board in 48 overs. Muskan and Priyanka top scored with 24 runs each followed by Kanika who chipped in with 12 runs. Sikkim bowler Archana Limbu scalped 4 wickets.  

Given a seemingly easy target, Sikkim faltered as Nagaland’s Arpana ripped through the batting line-up taking a record 7-wicket haul in a magical 9 overs that included 6 maidens. Sikkim was bundled out for 47 in 32 overs. Nagaland defeated Manipur in the first match by 117 runs. The next match is with Bihar on November 5 at the Tata Stadium, Dhanbad.
