BCTE earns B++ Grade in NAAC accreditation

DIMAPUR, FEBRUARY 23 (MExN): Bosco College of Teacher Education (BCTE) has secured a B++ grade in its first-ever accreditation cycle by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC), achieving a Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 2.86. The accreditation, valid for five years, will take effect from February 20.

The NAAC assessment evaluated the institution’s academic, administrative, and infrastructural standards, focusing on teaching-learning practices, research output, student support systems, governance, and institutional values. The B++ grade reflects BCTE’s commitment to academic excellence and continuous development.

A peer team from NAAC, comprising Dr Muthaiah Narayanasamy, Dr. Ram Pal Vadhera, and Dr Kishor Rewatkar, conducted an on-site evaluation on February 13–14. The team commended BCTE’s structured pedagogy, dedicated faculty, strong student and alumni networks, and institutional infrastructure, while recommending improvements in research initiatives and digital learning integration.

Earlier, on February 5, BCTE also underwent an Academic and Administrative Audit (AAA) conducted by Nagaland’s Directorate of Higher Education. The audit team, including Dr. Watijungshi, Kuholi Chishi, and Dr K Nishena Nekha, awarded the institution a B grade with a CGPA of 2.32.

As part of its commitment to sustainability, BCTE also conducted a Green Audit on January 27, led by Er Aghali A Swu, Er Kevisede Pucho, Moakumzuk Jamir, and Sentinaro. The audit focused on environmental sustainability practices, energy efficiency, and waste management.

Principal Fr Dr Jose Joseph expressed gratitude to the faculty, students, alumni, and staff for their dedication and support in achieving the milestone. He emphasized that the recognition will drive BCTE to strengthen its academic and institutional efforts in the years ahead.
