‘Falling in Love all over again’ by Azahto Kiba was launched by Poet and Author, Dr Easterine Kire at The Inroad Café, Kohima on January 12.
Speaking during the event, Kire expressed, ‘we write poetry not because we make money out of it but because it feeds the soul and also hopefully the souls of others.’
The theme of the book talks about many loves, Kire puts as she describes her observation on the book. In her own words, she adds, “Travels the road of love and ends up here- the perfect, unconditional love.”
Giving the publisher’s note, Vishü Rita Krocha, PenThrill Publication said that meeting the author and indulging in his manuscript also gave her a new perspective for life and literature. “I was first introduced to Pastor Azahto by Ma’am Easterine Kire sometime last year. And what a delight it,” Krocha recollected.
Describing its introduction to the PenThrill as small yet powerful, the publisher expressed confidence that will enrich and empower every reader and also serve as a reminder of why life is worth living.
“You will also be amazed to learn of the inspiring life’s journey of the author,” and further called the attendance to be book ambassadors of Naga literature.
Krocha also announced that the book was the 83rd publication of PenThrill, and their first book to be published by this year.
In continuing with the celebration of their 10th year, a special discount of 25% on all PenThrill titles (except the released book by Pastor Azahto) was offered to the attendees.
Author, Azahto Kiba while speaking about his new book expressed how his collection of poems came about through his life experiences which collates about the struggle he went through and are reflections of his life's journey and the license of how he view life regarding marriage, death, physical struggles and everything that we face in this life.
“Some poems were written before I started my spiritual journey and others I wrote after coming into a living relationship with God,” Kiba posits.
Narrating how the battles he had undergone brain tumour and in 1997 when he was given six months to live, he underwent two brain tumour surgeries, Kiba attributed that today he is alive because of God's mercy and faithfulness.
“My life totally turned around after I met the Lord,” he added.
The author also shared how he was close to his mother and couldn't cry when his mother passed away. “The only way to express my emotion of what I am going through is through my writing. I should say my inability to cry has been a blessing in disguise since I wouldn't be able to write if I could cry,” Kiba further added. He hoped that through the gift and talent to write that glorifies His name after being redeemed, readers will get a slight glimpse of his world and life's journey.
