Be contributor of change: Dr. Nicky Kire

Pfuchama | February 5 : MLA Dr. Neikiesalie (Nicky) Kire, chairman, Nagaland Khadi & Village Industries Board and advisor Music Task Force today asserted that whatever small way one contributes for a change can make the world a better place to live. Addressing the 61st biennial general conference of Southern Angami Students’ Union (SASU) here this morning, Dr. Kire said that one has to change himself/herself first if desired to see a change in the society.
Touching on the tag of ‘educated unemployed,’ he stated that once a person became educated they should be standing on their own feet. “It is the survival of the fittest,” he said and the called upon the youth to have patience and serious in everything they do.
Citing the various consequences in the hour of traffic jams, he called upon the people to respect and follow the traffic rules. Dr. Kire urged upon the educated persons to have patience while in the queue of traffic jams, avoid the use of mobile while driving and also not to park vehicle in ‘no parking’ zone. He maintained that such areas if one can change, would immensely benefit the common people.
Angami Students’ Union (ASU), president, Voto Nyekha in his message, called for continuous participation of elders in student’s body gathering adding that their presence would go a long way in encouraging and guiding the students in the right direction. Nyekha also stated that ASU will hold its general conference at Sovima from April 8-10 and called for active participation of students as well as elders from various organizations and well wishers.
SAPO president Zadeho Rikha also spoke on the occasion while SASU president Tsoto Sale delivered presidential address. Later, in the academic session, Menukhol John, commissioner & secretary for health & family welfare acted as the guest speaker and spoke on the topic “Southern Angamis in this competitive ages and ten years from now.”
Debate competition on the topic “Southern Angamis are doing well in this competitive age,” and exhortation by Neiketu Iralu also marked day-two session.
