
Kohima, June 22 (MExN): Kohima College held its 52nd fresher’s social meet with Chief Executive Officer & Coordinator Entrepreneurs Associates, Neichüte Duolo as special guest within the college premises on June 21.
Exhorting the students’, the College stated in a press release that Duolo encouraged them to strive for confidence and become independent as young Nagas. He said students should not depend on their parents by the age of 18 by trying to find good part time jobs for their pocket money expenses.
In order to become good and better, Nagas must change their mind sets and be ready to honestly work and toil for their goals and aims, he said.
Speech on behalf of seniors was delivered by Keneinuo Rülho and on behalf of freshers’ by Akhriezo Kezo. The induction of Kohima College Students’ Council executives was led by Ase Yalie, Convenor Students Welfare Committee KCK while, outgoing general secretary Manom Taiwangshu and incoming general secretary Zapoi delivered short speeches.
Marking the occasion, a brief felicitation from the political science department of the college was also held wherein Mesanuo Miachieo was awarded the students Meritorious Award. Megosekhono from B.A 1st semester won the Miss Fresher and Viboto Achumi of B.A 1st semester as the Mr Fresher.
Chaired by Kongpe P the programme commenced with invocation by Associate Professor of English Department, Sunjeminla. KCK Acting Principal, Thinuokhrienuo Tseikhanuo delivered the welcome note while vote of thanks was tendered by Shanyelo Kent.
