‘Beautiful Nagaland’ – Entries invited for photo contest

Photography Club Dimapur is all geared up to commemorate World Photography Day, which falls on August 19, on the theme ‘Beautiful Nagaland’ by organising the first photo contest in collaboration with Nikon Experience Zone (Redefine). This was informed at a press conference held at the Republic of Hiyo Café, Dimapur on Wednesday.  

The main idea behind organizing the photo contest is to encourage young people, to inspire and create positive change in them and community through photography.  

Apart from the usual photo exhibitions that the club organises on World Photography Day, this year’s photo contest will exhibit the beautiful Nagaland picture that many of us have failed to notice, the club members said.  

The club is inviting entries for the contest on the theme ‘Beautiful Nagaland’ with maximum photos of three. Each photo – with a maximum resolution of 10 MB, 300 dpi – should be provided with caption. The entries are to be emailed to photographyclubdimapur@gmail.com by August 15, 2017.  

The club also informed that the photos should be printable with no watermark and the pictures shot is confined only to Nagaland and can be taken from cell phone to DSLR cameras. There will be two winners and ten consolation prizes with prizes worth Rs. 20,000 to be won. The photographs of winners will be displayed on World Photography Day.  

The club will also arrange interactive session for participants, which is open for all, on World Photography Day at Le Bistro, Dimapur on August 19. Photography Club Dimapur is a conglomeration of amateur and professional photographers whose main initiative is to promote the passion of photography in the state. The club has organised about eight exhibitions encouraging amateur, hobbyist and professional photographers.
