Beneficiaries avail mini legal service camp in Phek

Phek, July 20 (MExN): The Phek District Legal Services Authority (PDLSA) in collaboration with Social Welfare Department (SWD), Health and Family Welfare and Administration, Phek (Aadhaar) organized a mini legal service camp at Government High School, Chetheba Town, Phek, where a total of 776 people were benefitted.

A press release issued by the Public Relations Assistant, PDLSA stated that the programme was chaired by Cheliam Khiamniungan, JMFC, District Court, Phek cum Secretary, Phek DLSA. The welcome address was delivered by Yapangmenla, EAC, Chetheba Town, a special song was presented by the Legal Literacy Club, Government High school, Chetheba and Theodore Yanthan, ADC, Chozuba and Sulupoyi Swiho, President, Chokri Area Public Organization also spoke during the programme. 

Meshusayi Tetseo, CDPO I/C DWO, Social Welfare Department, Phek highlighted on social welfare schemes namely Old Age Pension Scheme, Widow Pension Scheme, Disabled Pension Scheme, Pradhan Mantri Matritva Vandana Yojana and National Family Benefit Scheme, and apprised the gathering of the required documents to avail the same. 

The inaugural speech for the camp was delivered by Mezivolu T Therieh, NJS, District & Session Judge, District Court Phek cum chairperson, Phek DLSA who stated that Phek DLSA in collaboration with the government department has organised the camp, to legally empower the marginalized and excluded groups of the society by providing effective legal representation, legal literacy and awareness and bridging the gap between the legally available benefits and the entitled beneficiaries. She also encouraged the gathering to be honest and inquire to get the right information about their rights and benefits and avail the same, and also encouraged the gathering to cooperate and support the administration for the betterment and development of the village community. 

The concluding remark was delivered by Cheliam Khiamniungan, JMFC, District Court, Phek cum Secretary, Phek DLSA thanked District administration for providing assistance to the Phek DLSA and also thanked the Headmaster, GHS, Phek, for allocating the school for conducting the programme. 

The programme was attended by people from four neighboring villages namely: Thinyizu village,  Khulazu Basa village, Khulazu Bawe village  and Chesezu village, the release added.
