Peren, October 24 (MExN): Launching programme of Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao was held at Town Hall, Peren Town on October 24.
According to a DIPR report, the Secretary, Social Welfare, Sarah R Ritse in her address encouraged the young girls to work hard and that nothing is impossible. Juliana Medom, Assistant State Coordinator gave a power point presentation emphasizing that girl children should be taken care without discrimination in the field of education, economic, social life in the society and equal opportunities should be given to live happily at par with men.
President, Zeliang Rong Mipui Organisation, Apeuna Iheilung also gave a brief account of girls status and conditions in the district. Chairman,Ward Chairman Union Peren Town also gave a brief narration about men’s changing attitudes towards girls in the district. Special numbers were presented by Ipungchule, Orphanage Home Peren and Children’s Home, Peren. Sarita Yadav IAS, ADC Peren chaired the function.

SDO (C) Wokha, T. Lanusenla Longkumer informed that, in pursuance of the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao guideline all Village Council Chairman have been directed to put up a Board with dimension of 3ft by length and 2ft breadth at the entrance/outside wall of the village community fall by November 6 in their respective jurisdiction to display the number of birth of male and female children born month wise.
