‘Better pay means better work’

Dimapur, October 25 (MExN): President of the Confederation of All Nagaland State Employees Association (CANSSEA), Dr. K David Sema urged all government employees in the state to rendered better services to the public and the government.  

Addressing a CANSSEA meet in Dimapur today, Dr. Sema told government employees that since the 6th ROP has come into effect, they must perform better. “Better pay means better work” he said. He added that the government has fulfilled their demands and so they must also give back to the government. He said all government employees must be grateful to the government, which despites financial constrains, has implemented the 6th ROP. 

Observing that the delivery system of government employees in the state was still unsatisfactory, Dr. Sema encouraged them to inculcate a better sense of working; bring changes into their offices and prove to public what is deserved of them. He advised the head of departments not to come under any kind of pressure and assign the right assignments to the right people for better performance. He also urged the employees to take their assignments seriously, thereby, fulfilling the publics’ desire and providing better services to the public. 

Dr. Sema also said transparency is an area which needs thrust and that everyone should try and make changes for better functioning of the system. He called urged all government employees to work united so that CANSSEA can help the government run a better government. “Let us not be known only as an agitating organisation,” he reminded. He said efforts must be made to look into what it can give to the government and not only what the government can give to them. He also thanked the CANSSEA Dimapur unit for support rendered to the parent body during the fight for the implementation of the 6th ROP. 

General Secretary CANSSEA, M Vero further urged all state employees to put their heads together and strengthen the association. He called for greater interaction so that CANSSEA will not remain stagnant but grows. The General Secretary highlighted some of the events of the Association held since May 2010. He informed that the CANSSEA will be hosting the North East State Employees’ Federation meet on November 30. 

In the meeting, CANSSEA central office bearers took up issues pertaining to Dimapur unit and also assured to look into the matters. They also informed that any financial anomalies pertaining to the 6th ROP will also be taken up by CANSSEA.  The meeting was attended by executive members of CANSSEA central body headed by Dr. Sema and members of Dimapur unit CANSSEA.
