Better ways then road shows: Cong

Dimapur, August 5 (MExN): Nagaland Congress today took to task the NPF-led DAN government for being lavish and deepening the state’s ‘economic losses’. When Nagaland is suffering a colossal deficit and the common men continues to suffer, the Congress said, there is hardly any good reason “to celebrate without any progress and development.”

Congress Legislature Party leader Tokheho Yepthomi issued a statement today rounding up the DAN government for the fire. The CLP also referred to the Pungro situation. “There are better ways to present and promote our culture or the road show may continue in the district where massive development is taking place under the DAN regime. When Nagaland is reeling under huge deficit and the common men are suffering beyond measures, there’s hardly any good reason and justification to celebrate without any progress and development. The DAN government is rather expected to show its remorse by adopting drastic austerity measures,” the CLP leader said.

The Congress also criticized the NPF-led DAN “for creating tribal feud” with its proposed state road show at Pungro town. “It has drawn flake from all section of people because of the evils associated with it. The NBCC made no secret of its resentment when it accused the promoters of freely throwing liquor at every road show,” the opposition said. The volatile situation in Kiphire also caused a huge loss to public properties “as the roads were damaged and vehicles of the district administration destroyed by the mob.”

“Since the NPF led DAN govt. has no perspective plan for the people of Nagaland, it is obviously busy organising the State Road -Shows to keep the fun- loving people in good humour,” the CLP said. “The DAN government is answerable and accountable to the people for the colossal economic loss and for causing unnecessary tribal enmity. They should own moral responsibility and answerable to the people.”
