‘Beyond Election’ will prove what tall and big promises are being made today. It is the heart for God and people and not so much of what is breathed out. Public desire is that election vocabularies and terminologies should germinate and bear fruits against fossilization. The need of the people is ‘Beyond Election’ with roads and public systems different. But the highest and greatest need is justice and equality (cleanliness) in pubic management by Christians in leadership.
The Bible came to the Nagas 146 years ago and delivered us from spiritual clutches. Since then, Nagaland is historically founded on Christian foundation which no Naga can deny. The Gospel brought manifold blessings in the journey of the Nagas since then. The Bible means ‘what God said in the whole Bible’ and not in part. The believers of the Book are called Christians who are called by God to live and make a difference. Beyond Election in Nagaland, with Christians in authority, it is high time to talk about
(1) Preserving and promoting biblical heritage
(2) Managing public affairs with Christian principle
(3) Transforming conditions of public property
(4) Installing Christian or neutral Governor
(5) Facilitating international visa facility in Nagaland
(6) Launching out Nagaland Observatory to boost scientific tourism.
(7) Education as Nagaland’s priority Nagaland is in election trail. Election by clean election is promoting common property; it is civic maturity which is integrity in biblical term. In this venture, God’s interest is heart and not appearance (1Sam 16:7). In the midst of election wave, let us be thankful and grateful to God instead rivalry words as Christians, rising above revengeful spirit. We are all fellow people in human fragility. A Christian is a totality and not a dichotomy. A ‘Christian’ leader with credibility is the crying need of the hour. Say, BJP is a party today; with Christians in it, it may become Baptist Jingoistic Party someday; RSS is a Hindu fundamental fanaticism; with Christ, it may become a Radical Spiritual Society in Naga context since nothing can shake the strong biblical foundation in Nagaland. Nagas must be aware of influence of communalism and drive of money power that will destroy Naga future. Nagaland, as a land of Christians, can make a unique difference in a secular nation India with a testimony in the world in general. However, it is a collective responsibility to preserve and promote the purity of our land towards the forthcoming generation and posterity.
