Bhandari SDPDB discusses need of additional distribution transformers

Bhandari, February 8 (MExN): Meeting of the Bhandari Sub-Divisional Planning & Developmental Board (SDPDB) was held at the Officers Mess of the 7th NAP, Bhandari, Wokha on February 8.

During review of the previous meeting minutes, MLA and Chairman, SDPDB Bhandari, Achumbemo Kikon, who chaired the meeting, thanked the power department for upgrading the erstwhile 1.6 MVA power transformer to 2.5 MVA, a DIPR report stated. 

The MLA stated that if the 1.6 KVA be shifted and installed at Merapani village (Marachu Yan), it would further ensure sufficient power supply for small scale industrial, farming and economic activities of the people of the area. The house, while discussing on the requirement of additional distribution transformers in strategic locations for uninterrupted distribution of power, also appealed for judicious and responsible use of power supply by the public.

Deliberation was carried out for registration of Don Bosco School, Akuk, for Personal Educational Number (PEN) and the house decided to forward the matter to the District Planning and Development Board, DPDB, Wokha for further necessary action.

The SDPDB led by its Chairman, MLA, Kikon, expressed his sympathy over the unfortunate coal mine incident at Ruchan Village area on January 25, wherein 6 persons lost their lives and 4 persons got injured. The house condoled the loss of lives and wished quick recovery to the injured.
