‘Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra’ is not a political Yatra: Venugopal

MP and AICC General Secretary (Org) KC Venugopal today made the stand clear that its upcoming ‘Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra’ is a not a political Yatra. “We are taking the issue of the common people,” he said while addressing a press conference at Congress Bhavan, Kohima. Venugopal is currently in Kohima for preparatory meeting for Yatra in Nagaland, scheduled from January 15.

Basically, this Yatra is going to highlights the people sentiments, issues and sorrows to a big platform, he said and invites all other likeminded people, intellectuals and civil societies to join the Yatra.

He said that Rahul Gandhi is starting the Yatra, wherein AICC president Mapanna Mallikarjun Kharge is going to inaugurate the same on January 14 in Imphal, Manipur.

This Yatra is going to be a historic one. We are witnessing a lot of enthusiasm among the party workers and among the public about this Yatra, Venugopal told the press conference.

Yatra to seek justice for people

Venugopal informed that the objective of ‘Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra’ is to seek justice for youth of this country. The most disappointed section of the society is youth nowadays, he said adding that they (Youth) are not getting any job.

The Union government is not paying attention for fulfilling the aspiration of the youth of this country, he said adding that the youth are totally disappointed due to unemployment.

“Youth should get justice. We are seeking justice for the youth of this country,” he said.

Alleging that the government is not even considering the women sentiments, he said “We are seeking justice for women.”

Also stating that the government is totally neglecting the poor people of this country, Venugopal said “We are seeking justice for poor people. We are seeking justice for farmers.”
