Bharat Ko Jano Yatra chain prog held in Tseminyu

Kohima, January 28 (MExN): The Bharat Ko Jano Yatra chain programme was held at Tseminyu Town on January 28.

It was organised by North East Zone Cultural Centre (NEZCC) Dimapur, Ministry of Culture, Government of India, in collaboration with the Department of Art and Culture, Government of Nagaland.
The event aimed to promote national integration and cultural awareness.

Japhet Woch, Deputy Commissioner, Tseminyu graced the occasion as the special guest. He highlighted the historical ties between the Rengma community and Tai Ahom, Assam.

The event featured vibrant cultural performances by Tseminyu Village Men Cultural Troupe, Tai Education Initiative, Mariam, Assam, Phenwhenyu and Gujü Village Cultural Troupe, Kandi Village Cultural Troupe and Tseminyu Village Women Cultural Troupe.

Around 320 members of the public and students attended, including dignitaries from Rengma Hoho, Rengma Women Organization, Rengma Students Union, and Rengma G.B Association.

The program was anchored by Jolly Thyu, with invocation prayer by Akokla Sanglir, Associate Pastor, Women Department, Tseminyu Ao Baptist Church.

Welcome address was delivered by Senilo Kath, ARO, Kohima while keynote address was delivered by Teisovikuolie Therie, Deputy Director, Department of Art and Culture, Government of Nagaland.

Vote of thanks was proposed by Haichenlo Kath, District Cultural Officer, Kohima.

The event was a testament to the region’s rich cultural diversity and commitment to national unity.
