Kohima, July 28 (MExN): Bidisha Sarma and Mayurakshi Das of GTC CHESS FOUNDATION secured the 1st position and 4th position respectively in the Under 11 Girls Category in the 35th All Assam State Chess Championship 2011 held at Digboi from 20th to 24th July 2011. Arnab Kumar Pathak of GTC CHESS FOUNDATION missed the top position by one place and secured 5th position in the Under 11 boys category.
Both Bidisha and Mayurakshi will represent Assam in the National U 11 Chess Championship 2012. Mayurakshi was also the champion in the Under 9 category last year.
GTC Chess Foundation will provide special advance training to both these players under renowned International Master and former Commonwealth Champion Atanu Lahiri who is also the Chief Visiting Coach of GTC CHESS FOUNDATION. This was stated in a release issued by Biswajit Bharadwaj, director, GTC Chess Foundation.
