The Chokri Area Wrestling Association (CAWA) is all set to hold 30th biennial wrestling meet 2024 at Chetheba Town Local Ground on January 18.
Nagaland CAWD & Taxes Advisor Kudecho Khamo will be the special guest while Kiihiipoyo Puro, former vice president, Wrestling Federation of India will be the guest of honour.
The champion will be awarded with a cash prize of Rs 1 lakh sponsored by Nuzota Swuro, chairman Bamboo Development Agency, Government of Nagaland.
The 2nd position will receive Rs 80,000, sponsored by Vesupra Kezo, Deputy Commissioner of Police Dimapur.
Third prize at Rs 70,000 is sponsored by Muzito Thenucho Tunyi, Proprietor, CIMORB Hotel Kohima while 4th prize at Rs 60,000 is sponsored by Chorayi Veyie, Deputy Development Commissioner, Planning & Transformation department, Govt of Nagaland.
Prizes for 16 category at Rs 60,000 is sponsored by Er Muzivoyi Ringa, SDO, PWD (R&B), Dimapur Division.
The programme print is sponsored by Puvezo Chuzho, K Basa village while wrestlers track suits is sponsored by Lt Satuo Kuotsu’s children and grand children, Kohima village.
Zhothisa Dawhuo, Commissioner & Secretary for women department, Government of Nagaland will be the chief patron.
Other patrons for the meet includes; Dr. Vesapra Tunyi, Thepusa Nakro, Kenesa Dawhuo, Kuolie Puro, Kethose Chuzho, Meswiisayi Tetseo, Vekhayi Ruho, Sevehii Chuzho, Avizo Ringa and Povezo Puro.
CAWA president Vezhodiiyi Thisa will deliver presidential address during the opening ceremony while CAWA technical secretary Thepukhoyi Swuro will administer oath to the wrestlers.
Chisazo Dawhuo will be the chief referee. Other referees include; Huvenii Phesao, Savizo Thira, Kope Kronu, Veciisiiyi Chuzho, Vekhriyi Chuzho, Surhoneyi Soho and Zaciita Puro.
Zaciiru Ringa will assist as team coach.
