Mokokchung, August 27 (MExN): District Tobacco Control Cell (DTCC) Mokokchung under the National Tobacco Control Programme (NTCP) conducted an awareness campaign on ‘ill-effect of tobacco use’ on August 27.
The campaign was held in collaboration with Royal Enfield Mokokchung & Mokokchung Motorcycle Association on the theme “Protecting youth from industry manipulation and preventing them from tobacco and nicotine use”.
A press release from the Chief Medical Officer, Mokokchung stated that a brief programme was held before the campaign was flagged off, where Nukshiwati, Consultant, highlighted the programme schedule which involved pasting of posters and distribution of leaflets on ‘Tobacco use & COVID-19’ to the general mass and shops around Mokokchung Town.
Dr P Medemmayang, Medical Superintendent (MS) thanked the Club members for supporting the cause and said that the Club members are the messengers for decimating the messages to the public. He further said that the department will look forward for such collaborations in the near future.
The Campaign was flagged off by Dr P Medemmayang, MS, Mokokchung from IMDH Mokokchung covering the Town area from Assam Oil to Public Ground Mokokchung.
