DIMAPUR, NOVEMBER 26 (MExN): Biking Buzz 0.1, a cycle race organized by Hands of Change powered by Little Hut under the theme ‘Good Health & Responsibility’ was flagged off by Vibu Doze, Chairman, Development Committee Chümoukedima Town. Ronel Khundrakpam from Manipur won the race while Neikuzo Kenye from Chümoukedima came in second and Pekindibo Nring from Chümoukedima finished third.
“With the pandemic controlling our lives the last few months, one of the key challenges we faced was being physically active. With the world opening up and normal lives resuming, cycling can be one of the great ways to get back to maintaining fitness and building back immunity,” a press release from the organisers stated.
The event was organised to create awareness on the infrastructure that is being designed to make Chümoukedima more cycle friendly and promote healthier, personal mobility options.
The race was held from 6:00 am to 7:00 am starting at Sovima Cricket Stadium and ending at Local Ground, Chümoukedima , covering a distance of 12 km.
The prizes were sponsored by Chümoukedima Town Council, Reliance Trends Chümoukedima , Lakabi Clothing, New Wave United Club Chümoukedima, MI Store Chümoukedima, Firefox Dimapur, NI Enterprise Dimapur, Karo Sambhav (Cohesive E-waste Movement), Bharat Steel Chümoukedima, LIC Dimapur Branch, Media Partner by Chümou Blog and Hornbill TV.
The total prize money was Rs 21,000.
