
Wokha, October 10 (MExN): Two-day training on Bio-Medical Waste Management was held on from October 9 to 10 at the office of the Chief Medical Officer, and at Dr Motsuo Memorial District Hospital Wokha.
Atoshe Sema Addl Project Director (NHP) Health & Family Welfare, Akumsashi Ao Consultant WATSAN (NHP), Renthungo Ngullie Consultant Solar (NHP), Ranjeeth Paul Team leader,PMC (NHP) conducted the PILOT phase training at the District.
The training included an introduction to Bio Medical Waste Management, rules and regulations, segregation, collection, storage and transportation, the importance of Personnel Protective Equipment (PPE), the importance of the coloured coded bins labeling it properly and displaying of IEC materials at the appropriate sites. The training ended with group work, planning out District monitoring committee, way forward of the down training plan to be implemented at all the health facilities in the district. Proper documentation of waste generated to be recorded and registered. The training was attended by Medical Officers, Nurses, Block programme managers (NHM) and Grade IV staffs of the health facility, a press release informed.
