Kohima, July 3 (MExN): The Aadhaar based Biometric Attendance System (BAS) was formally launched in the Directorate of Home Guards and Civil Defence here on July 3 by I. Toshitsungba Aier (IPS), Director General, Home Guards and Civil Defence as part of the 100 days programme of the People’s Democratic Alliance (PDA) government. According to a press release from S. Rotokha Zhimomi, Senior Staff Officer (HQ), Home Guards & Civil Defence, the Director General hoped that with the introduction of the BAS, the performance of the employees will improve and transparency will be maintained in attendance of the employees. He also acknowledged the contribution made by the IT department in the installation of the BAS.
