Bishop of Kohima calls  for solidarity & prayer

DIMAPUR, JUNE 17 (MExN): Most Rev Dr James Thoppil, Bishop of Kohima has called upon the priests and religious and lay faithful in the diocese to pray for peace in Manipur. He endorsed the call for an Ecumenical solidarity prayer by the North East India Religional Bhishop’s Council (NEIRBC) along with Assam and Northeast Christian Forum. 

Stating that human efforts do not bear desired fruit unless blessed by God’s grace, the Bishop made the following proposals- to organize a special prayer service during the school assembly on June 23 or any other convenient day for a timely, amicable and permanent solution to the burning problems in Manipur.  And to organize praer services/peace rallies/candle light procession/silent procession in the respective state capitals/dioceses/districts/parishes/localities on June 24 or 25 to express solidarity with all the suffering sisters and brothers of Manipur.
