Passion of Christ enacted by Cathedral Catholic Youth Movement during the observance of Good Friday at Mary Help of Christian Cathedral, Kohima in April 3.
Kohima, April 4 (MExN): The observance of Good Friday led by Rev Dr James Thoppil, Bishop of Kohima Diocese was held on Friday at Mary Help of Christian Cathedral, Kohima, commemorating the passion and crucifixion of our Lord Jesus Christ.
The Passion of Christ was enacted by the Cathedral Catholic Youth Movement, followed by the liturgical service wherein the faithful gathered in prayerful silence to participate in the Liturgy of the Word, the Veneration of the Holy Cross, and Holy Communion.
The congregation participated in prayers for the universal Church, world leaders, and all people in need, reflecting the Church’s call for peace, reconciliation, and compassion.
A highlight of the observance was the Veneration of the Cross, where the faithful approached the altar in silence to pay homage to the Cross, a powerful symbol of Christ’s sacrifice and love for mankind.
The Good Friday observance concluded in silence, leaving the faithful in anticipation of the celebration of the Resurrection of the Lord at Easter.
