The third edition of ‘BizHorn’, a ‘management fest’ organized by ICFAI University, Nagaland (IUN), commenced here at ICFAI Campus Sovima, with faculty and students from different colleges in Dimapur attending the management fest.
Dr. Kuhoi Zhimomi, retired State Information Commissioner, who was the chief guest of the inaugural programme in his address said that today we need quality education where the idea of innovation and research development in both applied and conceptual, relevance to management and its underlying principles and to disseminate knowledge.
“Remember, learning does not stop as long as men live. If the ultimate aim of education is to meet the immediate need of human kind, then one must learn everything possible where one starts learning from home, school, colleges and universities. If our civilization is to survive and have better life then only true education is the answer,” asserted the chief guest. He also mentioned that the motto of the festival ‘Brilliant minds in action’ is striking and meaningful to this occasion, where the students could participate and compete in various events with zeal and enthusiasm and to exhibit their talent. Further, he urged the college to impart quality education to the students so that they can obtain knowledge. He also urged the students to seek true knowledge so that they can give back to self and the society. HoD, Dept of Management Studies, IUN, Wapangsenla Imchen, in a nut-shell presentation of the event said ‘Bizhorn’ is derived from two words- business and horn-which is translated to “messengers of good business practices.” She said in the present context of intense completion, management has to combine creative and analytical skills to produce effective goal –oriented results, constant innovation and thinking of new ideas, building good teams and delivering results. Keeping these in mind, Wapangsenla said this year’s edition is being organized under the theme “Revive, Recreate, Rejuvenate.” “The main objective of this management festival is ‘learning by doing’ and keeping in mind the importance of management concepts and leadership skills”, she added. Earlier, pro-vice chancellor, IUN, Dr. CP Alexander, delivered the welcome address. Assistant professor (Management Studies), Vindya Sagar, chaired the inaugural programme. The various business events, games and entertainment include ‘Gamester’, ‘Be my eye’, ‘Smash Clash’, ‘Know by sight’, ‘Minute to win’, ‘Catch the beat’, ‘Mad Ad’, ‘Cosplay’, ‘Craft talent’ and others.
