Dimapur, September 11 (MExN): The BJP Nagaland submitted a memorandum to the Union Minister for Human Resource Development, Prakash Javadekar appealing for up-gradation of Khelhoshe Polytechnic Atoizu, Zunheboto to engineering college.
According to a press release from BJP Nagaland General Secretary, Jaangsillung Gonmei, the party expressed the need for a full fledged technical college to tend to the requirements of the students who otherwise have to pursue engineering degrees outside the state, incurring additional expenses.
The memorandum also appealed for provision of adequate funds for repair and maintenance works of government school buildings, which are all in a dilapidated state, the release said.
An appeal was also made to bring back Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya (JNV) Kiphire established in 2006, which was temporarily shifted to Phek district. The memo requested to construct the school’s infrastructure at its permanent site in Kiphire, for which, land measuring 30 acres has already been allocated.
The Union Minister assured to look into the above matters, the release added.
