Pughoboto, August 29 (MExN): The BJP Mandal, Pughoboto has responded to the representation of the NPF Central Youth Wing to the Commissioner & Secretary, Health & Family Welfare, Government of Nagaland dated June 6, 2016. The representation demanded termination of all appointments made without Government approval from November 1, 2015 to April 30, 2016 in the Medical department.
While appreciating the action taken by the NPF Central Youth Wing to curb the practice of backdoor appointments, which it acknowledged is a trend in almost all the government departments and needs intervention from all sections of the society, the BJP Mandal in a press release questioned why the officials of the NPF Central Youth Wing sought for termination of only those appointments made during November 1, 2015 to April 30, 2016.
“Was it for their personal vested interest(s)? Or was there some pressurizing force behind them with ulterior motives, which compelled them to sought action only for a particular period of time and against one department?” it asked.
Whatever the case may be, the release said, any organizations while taking any steps to check corruption should do so without bias and partiality. “But the action taken by the NPF Central Youth Wing has created much apprehension in the minds of the people as their target was very specific,” stated the release issued by Jevishe Y. Assumi, Press Secretary and Jevito Achumi, President of BJP Mandal, Pughoboto.
Therefore, BJP Mandal, Pughoboto said it is necessary that the NPF Central Youth Wing come out clearly and make known to the people if they are applying the same yardstick in other Government departments also so as to clear the doubts in the minds of the people. “Otherwise, in the guise of justice, if only certain sections of people are being victimized, it would create more division and misunderstanding amongst the people.”
