
Kohima, September 17 (MExN): The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Nagaland celebrated the 74th birthday of Prime Minister Narendra Modi today at the party’s head office in Kohima.
The event was led by Deputy Chief Minister and BJP Legislature Party (BLP) Leader, Yanthungo Patton, alongside Advisors and MLAs Konngam Konyak, Pangjung Jamir, and Er. Kropol Vitsü.
In his address, Patton extended warm birthday wishes to Prime Minister Modi and praised his leadership in driving India towards inclusive development. He highlighted that Modi’s governance focuses on the principle of ‘Antyodaya,’ serving the most underprivileged citizens.
“Under his leadership, numerous schemes have been introduced, significantly improving the lives of millions in rural India,” Patton said, adding that Modi’s vision for India includes making the country one of the top three global economies.
Patton also underscored the Modi government’s commitment to infrastructure development, agricultural reforms, and rural entrepreneurship, including the construction of seven crore homes nationwide as part of the ‘Viksit Bharat 2047’ initiative.
During the event, MLA Kropol Vitsü also delivered a brief speech, emphasizing Modi’s keen focus on development and his efforts to uplift the poorest citizens, which have earned him widespread respect across the country.
The celebration, chaired by Tolivi Sumi, included an invocation by Mhayibeni Gifty Jami and a welcome address by Kohima District President Khrielie Usou. BJP Chief Spokesperson Thomas Magh presented a biography of Prime Minister Modi, and BJP State Spokesperson Therali Ezung gave the vote of thanks. The program concluded with a cake-cutting ceremony and a pictorial exhibition on the life and work of Narendra Modi.
The event was attended by NSMDC Chairman Kuputo Shohe, NEPED Chairman Supongmeren, BJP state officials, and members of the Kohima district, Sewa Pakhwada Committee, along with well-wishers.
